Portrait of Jo's Mom's Vase

A poignant commission. My friend Jo inherited this favorite vessel of her mother’s upon her death. Jo realized it meant a lot to her sister as well. So she asked me to paint a portrait of the vase to give to her sister for her birthday. Jo told me there were tears when her sister unwrapped the painting. Before I had a chance to swoon over the power of Art, Jo went on to say they both cry at the drop of a hat. So, yes, this is just a painting but I still think this is an interesting way to share an heirloom object.
