It's a good thing I love painting the weeds in snow.

Another winter, which I’m sure will go on way too long, another opportunity to study the weedscape! Aren’t I optimistic? But I do love the way it all turns into a drawing with the snowy white background. Well, except this photo moment who said forget drawing, I’m an action painting!

A few more branchy grassy moments I had to photograph. The colors so appeal to me, the yellow ochre, rust, spot red and subtle grays.

Small, 8 x 10 watercolor study I did this week, inspired by second photo in above series, on Twinrocker handmade cold press paper. Made in the USA. It has a smoother, harder surface than I’m used to on a cold press sheet. Nice weight and who doesn’t love a deckle edge all around? I’d use it again.
